#25 UConn Welcomes DePaul To XL for CvC Game
HARTFORD – The No. 25 UConn men's basketball team (14-6, 6-3 BIG EAST) is back in action on Wednesday night when it welcomes DePaul (10-11, 1-9 BIG EAST) to the XL Center. The Huskies and Blue Demons will conclude their regular season series at 8 p.m. on Peacock with John Fanta and Jordan Cornette on the call.

Connecticut has won its last 19 meetings with DePaul and is 20-1 all-time in a series dating back to the 2004 NCAA Tournament and continuing from 2007-13 and 2020-present as league foes. The two sides met earlier this year in Chicago, with UConn going up as many as 22 in the second half of an eventual 81-68 triumph. Solo Ball had a career day for UConn with 22 points and a 7-of-9 effort from 3-point range, while Alex Karaban netted 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the New Year's Day matinee.
UConn is coming off a tight setback at Xavier on Saturday night, rallying from down 10 late to pull within a possession in the final minute before ultimately falling 76-72. Ball led the Huskies with 20 points and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds to post his first career double-double and Aidan Mahaney scored 14 off the bench in the setback. DePaul was last in action on Saturday at Butler, dropping an 86-69 affair.
Karaban leads UConn this season with 15.4 points per game, adding 5.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 blocks per game to earn a spot on the Wooden Award Midseason 25. Ball adds 14.5 points per game and is shooting 43.6 percent from 3-point range to put him among the nation's leaders. Hassan Diarra is scoring 10.9 points and adds a league-best 7.6 assists per game during conference action, also leading UConn and ranking among the league leaders with 1.6 steals per contest. Samson Johnson (8.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 77.9 FG%) and Tarris Reed Jr. (9.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 65.8 FG%) hold down the pivot for Connecticut and have helped UConn to rank second in the country with 6.8 blocks per game.
This season DePaul holds a 10-11 overall record and is 1-9 in BIG EAST play. Jacob Meyer (12.6 ppg) and C.J. Gunn (11.7) are the top scorers for the Blue Demons, while N.J. Benson grabs a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game.
Following Wednesday night's contest in Hartford, the Huskies will travel to Milwaukee for a rematch of the 2024 BIG EAST title game and its first meeting of the season with No. 9 Marquette on Saturday night.
