Paige Bueckers Named to Inaugural NACDA Good Works Team
NORTHBROOK, Ill. – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was named to the inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team for winter sports, as announced by Allstate and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Wednesday.
The Good Works Team recognizes 20 standout student-athletes across collegiate winter sports for their exceptional achievements in community service, athletics and academics. This marks the first-ever expansion of the Good Works Team to include student-athletes from all collegiate sports and divisions.
A superstar on the court, Bueckers is committed to having the same level of impact in her communities. She has provided support to tackling food insecurity and expanding youth sports access in both Connecticut and Minnesota. Bueckers has included charity and community engagement in her NIL opportunities.
Bueckers has volunteered with the Husky Harvest food pantry, Special Olympics, Team Impact, Connecticut Children's and Make a Wish.
Bueckers was the 2023-24 BIG EAST Scholar Athlete of the Year and a CSC First Team Academic All-American. She earned a degree in human development and family sciences from UConn in 2024.
The final team was voted on by the program's Selection Committee from an impressive pool of nearly 200 nominees nationwide. These student-athletes represent nine winter sports and five collegiate divisions, demonstrating the far-reaching impact of student- athletes in their communities.
Announced in December 2024, the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team builds on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which has honored college football players' community impact since 1992. Now expanded to include all sanctioned national championship sports, the initiative will recognize 60 student-athletes annually across fall, winter and spring seasons.
