Huskies picked to finish first in Hockey East Preseason Poll

STORRS, Conn. – The Hockey East Association announced the 2024-25 Preseason Coaches' Poll on Monday afternoon as the UConn Huskies were picked to finish first by the league's head coaches. 

UConn is coming off an historical 25 win season a year ago, winning the Hockey East regular season and tournament crown, earning a bid into the NCAA Tournament, all for the first time in program history. Head coach Chris MacKenzie returns much of his roster from a season ago, including All-Conference selections Tia Chan, Jada Habisch, and Ashley Allard. MacKenzie was named Hockey East and Division I Coach of the Year in 2024. 

The Huskies will open the 2024-25 season on September 27 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum, welcoming the Minnesota Gophers to Storrs for a two game series.
