UConn's Alex Heard Atop the Leaderboard at BIG EAST Championships
Okatie, S.C. - UConn sophomore Alex Heard (Boca Raton, FL) holds a two-stroke lead atop the leaderboard after the first two rounds of the 2025 BIG EAST Championship presented by JEEP at the Callawassie Island Club.
After shooting a one-under 71 during Saturday's opening round, Heard shot up the leaderboard after shooting a six-under 66 during Sunday's second round of play. His -7 has him two-strokes in front of Georgetown's Barnes Blake and three-up on Marquette's Johan Widal. Heard had seven birdies on Sunday, giving him a tournament leading 12 through two rounds.
Heard and the Huskies sit in fifth place after two days, posting rounds of 289 and 291 to sit at +4. Marquette heads into the final day at -11 to hold a five stroke lead.
The final round of play will get underway on Monday morning.
