Lacrosse Battles Fairfield on Wednesday Afternoon
STORRS, Conn.- Following a thrilling overtime win over Drexel in the season opener, UConn lacrosse welcomes in-state opponent Fairfield University on Wednesday afternoon in Storrs. The Huskies were ranked #24 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and received votes and consideration in the IWLCA Coaches' and USA Lacrosse Poll.
Eve McGrogan was the hero last Saturday, scoring her third goal of the game in overtime to lift the Huskies to a 10-9 win. The three goal performance from McGrogan was the first time in her collegiate career that she scored multiple goals in a single game, earning the sophomore BIG EAST Attacker of the Week honors. Defensively, Riley Daly anchored the Huskies in the win, with a career-high 11 draw controls, as the UConn captain won Defensive Player of the Week.
