WSOC Begins Postseason On Road at Creighton
OMAHA - The No. 5 seeded UConn women's soccer team (10-4-4) begins the BIG EAST Championship with a quarterfinal match up at No 4 seeded Creighton (8-6-2) on Sunday, November 3 at 2 p.m. ET.
UConn has won back-to-back matches entering Sunday's contest and are looking to avenge a 2-1 defeat at Creighton back on Oct. 6.
The BIG EAST Championship appearance is the 5th-straight appearance for the Huskies since rejoining the league. Overall, it is the 24th appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament for the Huskies.
UConn won a thrilling 3-2 BIG EAST Quarterfinal last season with Chioma Okafor scoring a pair of goals including the game-winner in the 89th minute.
Okafor leads all active Huskies with three goals scored in the BIG EAST Tournament.
The Huskies finished the regular season 3-1-3 away from home this season with the only loss coming at the Bluejays.
The match up also pairs up the two teams on the opposite side of the spectrum in receiving yellow cards. UConn has the fewest yelllows this season with five and Creighton leads the BIG EAST with 29 yellow cards.
