Husky Women First, Men Second in UConn Dog Fight Invitational
STORRS- UConn men's and women's track and field returned home on Friday to host the Dog Fight Invitational, the first of two outdoor meets at the George J Sherman Family Sports Complex this season. The women secured 1st, scoring 188.5 points, 30 more than 2nd place Northeastern. The men took 2nd with 147 points, 14 points off from UAlbany's 161.
"The Dog Fight turned out to be a great competition for the Huskies," stated Director of Track & Field Beth Alford-Sullivan. "We competed well and had a great day here in Storrs. Tomorrow we honor our senior class and recognize all the great accomplishments of this amazing group!"
Men's Track:

William Watson (Reston, Va.) won the 110 meter hurdles, coming in at 14.41

Gabriel Cuffey (Radnor, Pa.) took second in the 400m at 49.07. Teammate Del Lindsay (Jersey City, NJ) secured third at 49.12.

The 4x400 team of Brendan Kovar, (Rockaway, NJ) Mekhi Stone (Smyrna, Ga.), Diarmuid O'Connor (Cork, Ireland) and O.J. Singletary (Rochester, NY) won the event with a time of 3:10.82, the 10th fastest time in program history in the event
Women's Track:

A'liyah Thomas (Linden, NJ) finished third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.84.

Danielle Adams (East Hampton, Conn.) secured second in the 800m with a time of 2:18.26

Madison Relyea (Mayfield, NY) captured second in the 1500m at 4:41.06. Ally McCarthy (Sandy Hook, Conn.) took fourth at 4:46.08.

Claire Paci (Greencastle, Pa.) ran away from the pack in the 3000m, winning the event by more than 10 seconds at 9:52.76, cracking the program all-time top 10 in the event.

Caroline Webb (Greenwich, Conn.) won the 5000m with a time of 17:25.88

The 4x100m relay team of Mia Dansby (Brockton, Mass.), Jaia James (Williamstown, NJ), Danielle Phillip (Valley Stream, NY) and Sarah Claflin (Pembroke, Mass.) finished second with a time of 47.00

The 4x400 relay team of Gabby Davis (Franklin Park, NJ), Jessica Starr (Cobalt, Conn.), Anna Connors (Bangor, Maine), and Raquel Rosa (Waterbury, Conn.) also won the 4x400 with a time of 3:43.84.
Men's Field:

Travis Roux (Northport, NY) finished third in the discus, with a throw of 49.58m.

Roux also took second in the hammer throw at 59.72m. Alex Krause (Coventry, Conn.) secured third in the event at 58.61m.

Enaji Muhammed (Branford, Conn.) won the high jump at 2.14m, the seventh-highest jump in UConn outdoor program history. Kasey Savage (Horsham, Pa.) took second at 2.00m.

Connor Hayford (Pittsfield, Mass.) brought home the win in the javelin at 68.03m, the ninth-best performance in outdoor program history. Max Ringwall (New Berlin, Wisc.) finished in third at 58.11m.

Antonio Wiafe (Shrewsbury, Mass.) took home third in the long jump at 6.88m.

Ty Noble (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) finished tied at the top of the pole vault at 4.50m.

Jack Foster (Saratoga Springs, NY) finished third in the shot put at 15.79m.

Gabriele DeFelice (New Canaan, Conn.) finished third in the discus at 43.41m. Emily Alty (Ashburn, Ontario) took fourth at 42.96m.

Natalia Surdej (Lancaster, NY) won the hammer throw at 59.14m

Brynn Madonna (Allendale, NJ) took second in the javelin throw at 43.38m. Caitlin Dumouchel (Mansfield, Mass.) finished third at 41.57m.

The women's pole vault squad had strong performances across the board, with Rachel Mason (Sussex, NJ) and Piper Linn (Greencastle, Pa.) finishing in the top-3 at 3.76m. Abigail Bernas (Orchard Park, NY) and Katie Floering (San Jose, Calif.) each jumped 3.61m to snag points for the Huskies. Mallory Malz (Glastonbury, Conn.) jumped 3.46m as well.

Sinclaire Fryer (Augusta, Ga.) won the shot put with the fifth-best event performance in program history at 14.56m.

Daryn Davis (Huntley, Ill.) claimed the top spot in the triple jump at 11.97m.
Up Next: The Huskies will return to action next weekend at the University of Alabama and Providence College.
