Huskies Take Down No. 11 Boston College, Split Weekend Series
STORRS, Conn. – The No. 14 ranked UConn women's hockey team defeated the No. 11 ranked Boston College Eagles, 2-1 on Saturday night at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. UConn moves to 8-3 in Hockey East play and 9-7 overall this season.
UConn opened the scoring midway through the first period off the stick of sophomore defender Maya Serdachny, her third of the season.
Boston College tied the game at one with under a minute remaining in the first period as Keri Clougherty scored her second goal of the season.
The game remained tied at one going into the first intermission with shots in favor of the Huskies, 11-5.
UConn regained the lead late in the second period as sophomore forward Ashley Allard netted her fourth goal of the season, making it 2-1.
The Huskies went into the second intermission with a one goal lead as shots favored UConn 12-7 in the second frame.
UConn goaltender Tia Chan was able to hold off Boston College in the third period, making eight saves in the third frame. Chan finished with 19 saves in the game.
