Huskies Conclude Regular Season against No. 12 Boston University
STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team is scheduled to wrap up the regular season this weekend against No. 12 Boston University. The Huskies will begin the weekend series on Friday, February 21 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum and will honor ten seniors in a pregame ceremony. TICKETS
UConn (19-11-2, 17-6-2 Hockey East) comes into the weekend in second place in the Hockey East standings on 52 points. Boston University currently sits in first place on 57 points. UConn will need to win both games against the Terriers in regulation to win the Hockey East regular season title
UConn is coming off back to back losses for just the third time this season, falling to Providence twice last weekend. Graduate student forward Jada Habisch has led the Huskies top line recently, scoring six goals in her last six games. Habisch is second on the Huskies roster in goals with 12 this season, one goal behind freshman forward Claire Murdoch (13).
Scouting Boston University:
Boston University (21-9-2, 18-5-2 Hockey East) is coming off a shootout loss to New Hampshire on Saturday. The Terriers are coached by Tara Watchorn in her second season. BU has been led by junior forward Sydney Healey this season as she leads the Terriers with 21 points. The Huskies won the first meeting against the Terriers, 3-1 in Boston (Feb. 7). Senior goaltender Tia Chan was sensational making 33 saves in the win.
Friday afternoon's game will be streamed on ESPN+. Saturday's game at Boston University will be televised on NESN.
