UConn Signs Serah Williams for 2025-26
STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball head coach Geno Auriemma announced the addition of transfer forward Serah Williams to the program for the 2025-26 season.
"I believe that Serah was one of the top players in the country, not only this past year, but in her career at Wisconsin," Auriemma said. "We're absolutely thrilled to have her coming to Connecticut. She's a great addition to our program. Her experience, her versatility and her ability to play at a really high level on both ends of the floor are going to be a great asset for us. I think as a person, she fits in perfectly with our team."
A 6-foot-4 native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Williams played three seasons at Wisconsin for former UConn assistant coach Marisa Moseley. Williams has one season of eligibility remaining.
"When I first stepped on campus at UConn and met the players and staff, it felt like the right place for me to spend my last year in college both on and off the court," Williams said. "The winning environment and atmosphere were everything I was looking for."
Williams compiled 1,494 points (16.4 PPG), 782 rebounds (8.6 RPG) and 211 blocks (2.3 BPG) at Wisconsin. She has 36 career double-doubles.
Williams is a two-time All-Big Ten First Team and Big Ten All-Defensive Team honoree. She earned both honors in 2024-25 after averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game and had 69 blocks in her junior season. She ranked third in the Big Ten in points and rebounds per game and second in the conference with 2.3 blocks per game.
Williams was the 2023-24 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as well as a Big Ten First Team and All-Defensive Team selection. She averaged 17.4 points and 10.7 rebounds and had a career-high 84 blocks as a sophomore.
As a freshman, Williams averaged 12.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, earning a spot on the All-Big Ten Freshman Team.
Williams was also a 2024 and 2025 Big Ten All-Academic Team member.
