Huskies Defeat Pirates, Advance to BIG EAST Semi-Finals
STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis team defeated Seton Hall in the quarterfinal matchup Friday morning. The Huskies were tested early but overcame adversity to defeat the Pirates bya. Final of 4-2 and move on to the semi-finals.
The Huskies started the morning strong with Olivia Wright and Victoria Matos winning their no.1 doubles matchup. Isabella Asenov and Cameron Didion followed suit winning their no.3 doubles matchup 6-4.
Heading into singles, the Huskies were looking to make a statement, and they did behind wins from Isabel Petri Bere, Victoria Matos, Cameron Didion and Isabella Asenov. The four wins in singles were enough to clinch the match and move on to the semi-final round.
The Huskies will await the winner of the no.4 vs. no.5 quarterfinal matchup.
