MSOC Picks up Road Win at CCSU
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team beat the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils 2-1 on Friday night at CCSU Soccer Field. The Huskies remain unbeaten, moving to 3-0-1 on the season.
UConn opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as junior forward Eli Conway was taken down in Central's box earning a penalty kick for the Huskies. Sophomore midfielder Sabri Hanni netted the penalty, scoring his third goal in his rookie season.
Conway doubled UConn's lead in the 36th minute, finding the back of the net for the first time this season. Senior forward Scott Testori put Conway in on goal with a beautiful flick off his head, notching his third assist of the season.
UConn went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Central Connecticut's Zane Brown trimmed into the Huskies lead in the 56th minute, scoring his first goal of the season. UConn has now conceded only two goals through their first four matches.
