ATLANTA – UConn women's basketball redshirt senior Paige Bueckers is one of 15 players on the 2024-25 Wade Watch list of candidates for the 2025 Wade Trophy, Trophy which is presented to the best player in college women's basketball, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

Bueckers was selected as the preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year, a preseason AP-All-American and to the Nancy Lieberman Award, Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy watch lists. She returns to UConn for a final season after leading the Huskies back to the NCAA Final Four in 2023-24. Bueckers was named to the 2024 WBCA, AP, USBWA and Wooden Award First Team All-America teams.

The Wade Watch list of candidates for the Wade Trophy is composed of players selected by the WBCA NCAA Division I Awards Committee. The committee will review the list midseason to determine if additional players will be added based on their play during the first half of the 2024-25 season. The winner of the award will be announced in April during the 2025 WBCA Convention in Tampa — site of the 2025 NCAA Women's Final Four.

The Huskies travel to Greensboro, N.C., to face No. 14 North Carolina (2-0) this Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
