Huskies Ready for ECU Intercollegiate

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's golf team jumps right back in action playing in The ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley on Monday and Tuesday at the Brook Valley CC in Greenville, NC.

The Huskies will hit the links to take on host ECU, Barton College, West Georgia, Morehead State, Gardner-Webb, FDU, UCF, Old Dominion, Oakland, Columbia, Temple, Auburn, Bellarmine, Queens University of Charlotte, Dartmouth and IU Indianapolis

The UConn lineup will feature junior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT), senior Ray Dennehy (Princeton, NJ), sophomore Alex Heard (Boca Raton, FL), sophomore Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) and senior Eric Boulger (Walpole, MA).  Senior Vikram Konanki (Newton, MA) and freshman Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) will compete as individuals in the tournament.

The Huskies are right back in action coming off a third place finished at the weather shortened Surf Club Invite last week.  Dennehy led the UConn contingent at the event, tying for sixth place after a two-round score of 141 (-1), his third top-10 finish in seven events this season.  He currently leads the team with a 71.6 per round average.

Goode and Heard each earned a top-20 finish last week, both tying for 13th place with two-round scores of 143 (+2). Goode has four top-20 finishes on the season and just behind Dennehy with a 71.7 per round average. He has a team-best 10 rounds played at par or better on the season. Heard earned a top-20 finish after finishing tied for second in the Dorado Beach Collegiate early this spring. He is averaging 71.8 per round over five events played this season.

Following this week's action the Huskies will be off until the end of the month when they take part in the Golfweek Invitational on March 31 to April 2.
