SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey – The UConn women's tennis team dominated Seton Hall university Friday evening to win their first BIG EAST match of the season. The Huskies were led by Olivia Wright, Maria Constantinou, and Isabel Petrie Bere.

The Huskies started the day off strong in doubles matches as the double pairing of Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou continued to stay hot, winning this matchup by a final of 6-2. Isabel petri Bere and Victoria Matos followed suit winning no.2 doubles by a final of 6-1. The no.3 doubles which featured freshman Chloe Lomans and Isabella Asenov went unfinished.

"This was a great win over a very good conference opponent," said Head Coach Glenn Marshall. "Our kids were focused from the start, and knew that we were going into their home club for a tough match. But, we came out with great energy and focus, winning another solid doubles point to kick start the match.  In singles we were led by our three seniors, who all had wins to secure our 4-0 win.  Isabel and Maria won in straight sets, and Olivia clinched it for us with a three set win.  I was very pleased with our play tonight.  We were focused and energized, and that was a great win to start our conference schedule."

In singles, the Huskies were able to secure the 4-0 victory behind wins from Olivia Wright in no.1 singles, Maria Constantinou in no.2 singles and Isabel Petri Bere in no.3 singles. Bere won her singles matchup (6-3, 6-3) while Constantinou won (6-2,6-3) _. The Huskies three other singles matchups went unfinished, but the result stayed the same as the Huskies were able to secure their first BIG EAST win of the 2025 season.
