Golfers Claim BIG EAST Postseason Honors
STORRS, Conn. - UConn men's golfers Tommy Dallahan (Simsbury, Conn.) and Bradley Sawka (Ellington, Conn.) took home BIG EAST postseason honors announced by the league on Monday. Sawka was honored as the 2024 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year while also earning all-conference accolades. Dallahan was an All-BIG EAST pick as well. The National Collegiate Rankings were used to determine the individual winners and an All-BIG EAST First Team and All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Sawka was the top ranked freshman in the BIG EAST producing a 73.4 stroke average. He shot a season-low 69 three times while playing in nine events. His stroke average was second on the team. Sawka also was second on the team with 11 rounds of par or better. His best finish was second at the Bridgestone Collegiate. Sawka also was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection.
Dallahan led his team with 13 rounds at par or better. The senior compiled a 72.4 stroke average, while playing in all 11 events. His low round was a 67 at the Surf Club Invite when he shot a 205 (69-69-67). His best finish was a tie for second at the Rutherford Intercollegiate.
