Track & Field Returns to Action at Suffolk Relays
STORRS, Conn.- UConn Track & Field will return to action for the first time in 2025, shipping up to Boston to compete in the Suffolk Relays on Saturday at the Track at New Balance.
The Huskies competed in the event last indoor season, with a strong performance that saw 13 first place finishes, and two indoor program records. On the men's side, twenty-nine student-athletes will compete in the event, with the women's side competing with an even thirty student-athletes.
UConn will look to carry over the strong momentum from their indoor season opener into the new year, after a dominating meet victory from both teams at the UConn Husky Challenge in Storrs. Individually, Diarmuid O'Connor earned recognition from the BIG EAST conference, earning Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors after his 5,567 point performance in the heptathlon.
Quote from Director of Track & Field Beth Alford-Sullivan:
"We are excited to open 2025 with the meet at the New Balance facility. The team is training hard and preparing for the full season ahead!"
