HookC Riding Momentum Into Series vs. Seton Hall
STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (18-17, 5-4 BIG EAST) will welcome Seton Hall (14-22, 2-4 BIG EAST) to Elliot Ballpark for a three-game series beginning Thursday, April 17 at 6:05 p.m. Friday's middle game of the series is Miller Lite Night with $2 Miller Lites, first pitch at 6:05 p.m. Saturday's series finale will start at 1:05 p.m. All three games will be on FloSports/BIG EAST Digital Network.
The Huskies are riding a season-high five game win streak with 55 runs scored from the UConn offense. The Huskies scored a season-high 21 runs in a 7-inning run rule victory against Boston College on Tuesday evening.
UConn enters the weekend in fourth place in the BIG EAST standings after sweeping the series against Georgetown in Storrs last weekend. The Huskies had all three starting pitchers work into the sixth inning for the first time this season.
Tri-captain Bryan Padilla has heated up, hitting .500 (7-14) during his four-game hit streak with four runs scored and 7 RBI. Fellow veteran Caleb Shpur is red hot during the five-game win streak, hitting .421 (8-19) with 8 RBI, nine runs scored, five stolen bases, one double, one triple and has homered in back-to-back games.
Seton Hall enters the weekend coming off a home series win against the Creighton Bluejays. Aidan Robbins leads the Pirates with a .421 AVG, 30 walks, .539 OBP, 15 SB, 13 doubles, four triples, four homers and 31 RBI.
