No. 5 UConn Faces Butler in Regular Season Road Finale
STORRS, Conn. – The fifth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (25-3, 15-0 BIG EAST) travels to Butler (15-14, 5-11) on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Hinkle Fieldhouse. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).
UConn beat Seton Hall, 91-49, in South Orange, N.J., on Wednesday. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers led the Huskies with 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. UConn shot 63.5% vs. the Pirates.
For the 32nd straight season, UConn has reached 25 wins. Only four other programs have active streaks with 25 games won in at least five straight seasons: Baylor (21), FGCU (14), Stanford (6) and South Carolina (5).
UConn is 7-0 all-time vs. Butler. The teams last played on Feb. 2 in Hartford, a 101-59 win for UConn. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers led with 18 points in the game as six Huskies scored in double digits.
UConn has two Indiana natives on the roster. Redshirt sophomore Ayanna Patterson is from Fort Wayne and sophomore Ashlynn Shade is from Noblesville.
Butler is coming off a 58-54 win vs. Xavier on Wednesday. This season, Caroline Strande leads the Bulldogs with 13.4 points per game. Head coach Austin Butler is in his third season at Butler.
