Huskies set for midweek matchup with UMASS

UConn (21-13) is coming off a series win over Butler this past weekend and are winners in eight of their last ten games. In those ten games, the Huskies offense has been instrumental in their success, scoring 92 runs on 112 hits, with 18 home runs, 48 walks, and 25 doubles, posting a collective .373 batting average. This season, UConn ranks 34th nationally with 44 home runs, hitting 1.29 homers a game which ranks 26th in Division I. Sophomore outfielder Kaitlyn Breslin leads the Huskies with 12 homers this season, ranking atop the BIG EAST in the category. Junior catcher Grace Jenkins became the second Husky this season to reach double digit home runs, hitting her tenth of the season this past weekend. This is the first time in program history that two players have hit double digit home runs in a single season.
Scouting UMASS (9-22, 3-6 Atlantic 10)
The UMASS Minutewomen come into Wednesday's matchup winners in three of their last four games. The Minutewomen are coached by Danielle Henderson in her 11th season. UMASS returns all-conference player Sarah Keagy to their 2025 roster. UMASS leads the all-time series 38-35, but UConn has won the last three matchups in 2024, 2023, and 2022.
