No. 6 Huskies Beat DePaul
CHICAGO – Graduate students Kaitlyn Chen and Azzi Fudd each scored 17 points to lead the No. 6 UConn women's basketball team (20-2, 11-0 BIG EAST) past DePaul (11-12, 6-4), 84-58, Wednesday evening.
Chen shot 7-for-9 from the field and 3-3 from three-point range. Fudd shot 6-of-12 with four three pointers and added four rebounds and five assists.
Freshman Sarah Strong had 11 points and added a game-high eight rebounds.
The Huskies shot 55 percent from three-point range.
UConn forced 21 DePaul turnovers and scored 20 points off turnovers.
DePaul set a record for home attendance with 8,305 fans at Wintrust Arena.
UConn returns to the XL Center this Sunday to host Butler (12-11, 2-8) at 1 p.m. for the Huskies' Play4Kay Pink Game. The game will air on SNY.
