Bradley Sawka Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week
STORRS, Conn. - The UConn golf program notched its fourth BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honor as freshman Bradley Sawka (Ellington, Conn.) was tabbed as this week's winner. Sawka shares this week's award with Wenliang Xie of Seton Hall.
Sawka had his best tournament as a collegian, tying for second place at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational in Napa, Calif. He shot a 6-under 210 with all three rounds coming under par. His best score was a 69 in the second round. Competing as an individual, Sawka finished one stroke behind the winner. The Husky team took seventh place.
He is the fourth different Husky to take home the award this season, joining teammates Connor Goode (Glastonbury, Conn.), Tommy Dallahan (Simsbury, Conn.) and last week's winner, Ray Dennehy (Princeton, N.J.).
UConn heads back out on the links at the Golfweek Invitational at the True Blue Golf Club in Pawley's Island S.C. on April 1st through 3rd.
