Join the Veritas Art Society (Club) for our weekly meeting. We would love for you to join us as we create different art and discuss plans going forward throughout the semester.

On Thursday, May 1st, the UNIV 1810 class will be presenting their Final Projects with their teams, and we would love for you to join us if your schedules align. Feel free to contact me via email with any questions - alexander.ali@uconn.edu Final Project: UConn Waterbury & Beyond The purpose of the final project is to encourage students to become leaders both within and outside of our UConn Waterbury campus. Students will work with their assigned groups to develop a project that positively impacts the city of Waterbury OR the UConn Waterbury community. They were encouraged to be creative with their project! My only requirement was that they adhere to the project budget of $4,000 (an equivalent of the Change Grant) and propose a way to physically be able to track data to measure their impact on the community. If students would like to exceed the $4,000 budget, they will also need to develop a way to raise additional funds. If interested, they were encouraged to explore other funding sources on our UConn Waterbury website and/or write a mock funding request to campus leadership. On our final day of class (May 1st), they will present their ideas via a PowerPoint presentation (minimum of 8 slides).

The Upward Bound/ConnCAP Field Day is a dynamic, action-packed event held during the summer program, designed to provide students with a fun and engaging way to build teamwork, develop leadership skills, and foster a sense of community. This event takes place outdoors and features a variety of physical activities, games, and challenges that encourage students to work together, stay active, and have fun. Throughout the day, participants will rotate through different stations featuring team-building games such as relay races, obstacle courses, tug-of-war, and other competitive activities. These games are not only designed to promote physical fitness, but also to help students develop important life skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. The focus is on participation, sportsmanship, and creating lasting memories with peers. The Field Day also provides a chance for students to take a break from academics and engage in recreational activities in a positive and supportive environment. Throughout the event, students will have the opportunity to bond with their fellow participants, make new friends, and enjoy the outdoors while staying active and engaged.
