- May 11All dayGive & Go:Give and Go is an initiative hosted by Community Outreach that diverts waste from landfills by providing students moving out with an easy and accessible way to donate the items they no longer need rather than throwing them out. After a brief hiatus due to COVID, the program was revamped in 2024 and diverted more than 8,000lbs of items from the incineration and into the populations our 8 community partners served. Give & Go is back for 2025 and we're aiming to double our impact with donations collected from May 8th-10th & 12th! Join us in promoting a more sustainable UConn by volunteering! Donate your unneeded items at a donation tent near you or the Ratcliffe Hicks Arena. - May 1112:00 PMAll Together Now- Regional Artist ExhibitionAll Together Now is an exhibition that speaks to human experience and community. The title of the exhibition references the music hall tradition of everyone joining in singing. Artists from new London, Windham, Tolland, and Middlesex counties in Connecticut and Washington County in Rhode Island were invited to submit two dimensional artworks which were reviewed by an exhibition committee. The twenty-eight selected artworks include drawing, mixed media, textile, painting, photography, and printmaking. For All Together Now Expressiones presents ARTVenture: Journeys in Creativity and Confidence, in which they proudly showcase their young artists' creative journey, featuring children ages 8 to 12. Under the guidance of their Artists-in-Residence—Toto Fernandez, Indira Urrutia, and Marc Hors—students have explored painting, drawing, and mixed media to discover and strengthen essential life skills: self-confidence, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Each piece in the exhibition reflects their process of exploration and growth, where art becomes a tool for self-awareness and resilience. The Alexey von Schlippe Gallery and Expressiones invite you to appreciate not only the beauty of their creations but also the transformative power of art in the holistic development of children in our community. Exhibition dates: May 9 – June 1, 2025 Gallery hours: Thursday-Sunday 12 – 4 pm

- May 1212:20 PMDepartment of Pharmaceutical Sciences Toxicology SeminarDr. Stapleton is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and the Joint Graduate Program in Toxicology. She received her B.S. in Biology and Athletic Training from State University of New York (SUNY) College at Cortland, a M.S.Ed. in Kinesiology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. She completed her postdoctoral training within the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at West Virginia University. The Stapleton laboratory investigates the microvascular perturbations associated with normal physiological challenges (exercise or pregnancy), disease, and exposures to environmental and/or occupational xenobiotics. Using engineered nanomaterials, studies focus on the question: how can something we inhale affect the cardiovascular system? Recently, her research group has investigated non-traditional models of exposure by incorporating reproductive toxicology. These studies focus on exposures during pregnancy leading to the development of a hostile gestational environment identified through microvascular evaluations of the mother. These prenatal exposures impact fetal development and may predispose future generations to cardiovascular aberrations. The Stapleton laboratory is funded by a NIEHS ONES award, NIH R01 ES031285 Education & Training • PhD West Virginia University • M.S.Ed Southern Illinois University • BS State University of New York (SUNY) College, Cortland
