The Leadership Legacy Experience is the University of Connecticut's most elite, immersive leadership program that helps prepare talented students for a life of commitment and contribution beyond graduation. The program recognizes and invites the University of Connecticut's most exceptional undergraduate students to participate in a one-year leadership development program starting in January and ending in December of 2025. Throughout the year, students will engage in biweekly leadership reflections that promote personal and professional development. Additionally, Leadership Legacy Experience hosts a series of interactive excursions such as a whitewater rafting trip, banquet, retreat, homecoming tailgate reunion, and so much more—all paid for. UConn Waterbury will be hosting Suicide Prevention Week. Students will be able to participate in the "Field of Memories" activity throughout the week, engage in mental health screenings and get resources from community providers. 

Several community agencies will be on campus during Suicide Prevention Week to provide educational information to students on suicide prevention and resources. 

Students will be given small yellow flags to write encouraging messages to one another. These flags will be placed in the grass in the courtyard as a representation of the number of college students that end their life to suicide each year. The "field" will be on display all week.

LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down a student's computer when used for administering a test through HuskyCT. Monitor is an additional feature that uses a student's webcam to record them taking their test, which provides a means to review the student's testing environment. When taking a test using LockDown Browser, students are unable to print, copy, go to other websites, access other applications, or close a test until it is submitted for grading, and Monitor creates a video record of the time they spent taking the test. Do you feel prepared to act in the event of a medical emergency? Do you want to learn how to recognize and stop a life threatening bleed? If so, join us to learn how to Stop The Bleed! This course, taught by a UConn Rescue BLS and STB instructor, will cover recognition of life threatening bleeds and how to treat them through direct pressure, wound packing, and application of a tourniquet. There will be opportunity for hands on skills practice and each student will receive a Stop The Bleed certification at no cost. No experience is needed, all are welcome!
