- Nov 1110:00 AMOLLI Event: The Three Amigos. A Rabbi, Priest, and Imam Discuss Shared Ways of Understanding Religion"The Three Amigos," Monsignor Joseph Donnelly, Imam Gazmend Aga, and Rabbi Eric Polokoff, will present "It's About Relationships," at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's (OLLI) end-of-semester celebration on November 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., on the UConn Waterbury Campus at 99 East Main Street in downtown Waterbury. This special event is free to OLLI members and $25 for non-members. All are welcome. A pizza lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. Back by popular demand, The Three Amigos have been hugely popular guests at many venues in the past several years, discussing faith and community from the point of view of Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam. Their spirited collaboration began when Trinity Health of New England acquired a heritage version of the St. John's Bible and sent one volume to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. That volume was the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible, and the foundational text for all three monotheistic religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Rabbi Polokoff, Imam Aga, and Monsignor Donnelly were invited to a ceremony at the hospital to welcome the text. The conversation among the three was so energetic and enlightening that the trio believed they should expand their conversation, open it to the public, and take it on the road.
