The training will offer practical tools and strategies to engage and support parents through trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and father-inclusive approaches. Participants in this webinar will: • Understand the current statistics and trends related to parental stress in the U.S., with a focus on disparities affecting parents with limited access to services. • Explore how stress manifests during early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence, including financial, emotional, and time-related challenges. • Analyze how poverty, social isolation, work-family conflict, and limited service access intensify stress for parents, particularly for fathers in marginalized communities. • Identify evidence-based interventions, community support mechanisms, and policy recommendations that professionals can use to support stressed parents. • Learn techniques for engaging fathers in stress reduction supports and services, especially those who are often left out of traditional parenting programs.

This personal collection features decades worth of iconic photos, album covers, posters and promotional materials that Best has amassed while writing about music for newspapers in New Jersey and Connecticut and interviewing musicians and authors on the radio at WPKN in Bridgeport and WHUS in Storrs. Highlighted will be 50 photos of major rock 'n' roll figures by Connecticut photographer Joseph Sia, including his famous image of Jimi Hendrix at Woolsey Hall in New Haven in 1968, known as "The Shadow," from Best and Sia's 1992 book,Eight Days a Week: An Illustrated Record of Rock 'n' Roll (Pomegranate Books).

Louis, Johns Hopkins UniversityThe Department of Statistics at the University of Connecticut is honored to announce the 31st Distinguished Statistician Colloquium. The Pfizer colloquium series range from 1978 until 2012 and was renewed in 2018. The colloquium series featured C. R. Rao, Bradley Efron, D.R. Cox, Grace Wahba and many more. The purpose of the Colloquium is to provide a forum for a distinguished statistician to share and disseminate their unique perspective and work in the theory and/or application of statistics. Starting from 2018, the series has been co-sponsored by Pfizer, the American Statistical Association, and the Department of Statistics at the University of Connecticut. This year's speaker will be Thomas A. Louis, Professor emeritus, Department of Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Professor Louis will give a presentation entitled, "Trade-offs in Statistics: There is no free lunch, but reduced-price meals abound", under the auspices of the Pfizer Colloquia by Distinguished Statisticians in Honor of Dr. David S. Salsburg. Following the lecture will be the Conversation with Distinguished Statisticians in Memory of Professor Harry O. Posten. This discussion with Professor Louis will be led by Susan Paddock, Executive Vice President & Chief Scientist, NORC at the University of Chicago, and J. Sunil Rao, Director of Biostatistics, Masonic Cancer Center, and Professor of Biostatistics in the Division of Biostatistics at the School of Public Health.
