Huskies post strong finish in Head of the Charles
Boston, MA – In one of the most anticipated events of the fall, the UConn women's rowing team placed 13th out of 52 boats, securing a spot for next year's race and improving significantly on last year's finish. The team earned a total time of 19:02.513.
Head Coach Jennifer Sanford said, "It was a beautiful day for the Head of the Charles, the premier racing event for the Fall, and arguably the most fun race to race in as an athlete. We are happy with our performance, placing significantly better than last year's finish, and guaranteeing the team an entry for next year by finishing in the top 50%. The women who raced today fought hard to earn their seats in this boat, and they did a great job representing our team on the water today. This week we will shift back to focusing on the eights as we prepare for the Head of the Schuylkill next weekend."
