The tickets are providedby the Big E as an opportunity for registered 4-H members and leaders to attend 4-H Day as guests, participants, and observers.The number of complimentary Big E tickets requested by UConn CES is based on an estimate provided by 4-H educators/staff members of the number of 4-Hers and volunteers expected to participate from each county. Because the tickets representmonetary value, a policy is needed to insure proper distribution and use.Registered 4-H members and 4-H volunteers will each be eligible to receive from UConn CES one complimentary ticket for admission to the Big E on 4-H Day. If needed, one complimentary admission ticket will be provided to a designated driver for a registered 4-H member(s) to attend. Complimentary tickets will apply only to designated drivers who have not otherwise received such tickets from UConn CES.

- All dayFlyway of Life: Love Letters to Nature exhibitAn opening reception for "Flyway of Life" will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the gallery, located in the Branford House at the UConn Avery Point campus in Groton. Admission is free.On Oct. 1 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Koeck will be in conversation with John Dodd, executive director of the Atlantic Shark Institute, with food and refreshments. The event will take place in the gallery. After the conversation at 6 p.m. in the campus auditorium, a screening of Koeck's film "Flyway of Life," will be shown, followed by a question-and-answer session.

- 10:00 AM7hFree Puppet-Making Workshops for Celebrate Mansfield FestivalProduced in collaboration with UConn's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and directed by Sara Peattie of Boston's Puppeteers Cooperative, with live music by Waldron's Studio 88, Prehistoric Mansfield will present a day in the life of the animal kingdom thousands of years ago in what is now Mansfield. In a soap opera format narrated by a Giant Beaver (Castoroides ohioensis), and featuring an enormous and boastful Stag Moose, a swarm of gossiping insects, and other puppet characters, Prehistoric Mansfield will be an exciting family-friendly spectacle performed at the Celebrate Mansfield Festival on the afternoon of Sept. 27. No experience is necessary to participate in these free community puppet-building workshops. Space is limited, so advance registration is strongly encouraged. Participants can come for one or both days but should register for the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or/and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. time slot(s). Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Following the session, a guest speaker with expertise in sustainability will share insights on how individual choices can support a healthier planet, encouraging students to think critically about their impact on the environment. The evening wraps up with free Dairy Bar ice cream, giving attendees the chance to relax, socialize, and enjoy a well-earned treat.
