- Oct 75:30 PMStatewide Dyslexia Awareness Collaborative KickoffThe Connecticut State Department of Education's Office of Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities has partnered with agencies from across the state to advance the 2025-2026 Dyslexia Awareness Collaborative. The campaign features a series of coordinated activities designed to promote awareness and a shared understanding of dyslexia, with the goal of ensuring equitable student identification and support. Guest Speakers Include: Deon L. Butler, former NFL athlete, motivational speaker, and author. Don't miss the meet and greet and book signing! Dr. Fumiko Hoeft, physician and neuroscientist, Campus Dean and CAO of UConn Waterbury.

We will have attending neurosurgeon Dr. Chris Conner present on his path into neurosurgery and what made it the best career choice for him. We will also be giving an introduction to our student interest group and our goals and plans for the academic year.

- Oct 8All dayEight Days a Week : An Illustrated Record of Rock 'n' RollEnjoy this unique exhibition of rock music memorabilia from the archive of editor, journalist, and radio disc jockey Ken Best. This personal collection features decades worth of iconic photos, album covers, posters and promotional materials that Best has amassed while writing about music for newspapers in New Jersey and Connecticut and interviewing musicians and authors on the radio at WPKN in Bridgeport and WHUS in Storrs. Highlighted will be 50 photos of major rock 'n' roll figures by Connecticut photographer Joseph Sia, including his famous image of Jimi Hendrix at Woolsey Hall in New Haven in 1968, known as "The Shadow," from Best and Sia's 1992 book,Eight Days a Week: An Illustrated Record of Rock 'n' Roll (Pomegranate Books).
