STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's and women's swimming and diving teams will head to Geneva, Ohio for the Big East Championship meet. The four-day event will take place from Wednesday, April 7th to Saturday, April 10th at the Spire Institute.

The Husky High Five award recognizes UConn student-athletes that demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, growth, and improvement in their commitment to succeeding in the classroom, their sport, and/or in the area of service and leadership. This award recognizes and honors students who have achieved success in these areas through hard work and dedication. When nominating for the Husky High Five, recipients are selected on the criteria of demonstrating significant achievement in their coursework despite various challenges and showing growth in the areas of academics, personal development, leadership, and service.

Shamokin Dam, Penn. - The University of Connecticut Rowing Team found success Sunday in it's final race of the 2023-24 regular season. Coach Jen Sanford said, "I am very happy with our results today. Bucknell is a fast team across the board and to be as competitive as we were today gives us good motivation as we shift into our last three weeks of training before the conference championship. Wins from the 2nd Varsity Four and 2nd Varsity Eight were great for those boats. Today showed that if we continue to stay committed to the process we will have a very successful conference championship."

The Huskies will return from holiday break in January and swim in four meets before starting the post season in the BIG EAST Championship in late February.

Indianapolis, IN - On the final night of competition, the University of Connecticut Swimming and Diving Team narrowly fell to Villanova to claim the second spot in the Big East Championship. The two teams had separated themselves from the rest of the league early in the championship with success in the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, sealing the victory for the Wildcats. Final scores for the two were 1482.5 for Villanova to UConn's 1461.5.

Indianapolis, IN - After falling closely behind Villanova on day two of competition, the University of Connecticut Swimming and Diving Team sought to reclaim the lead set on day one with events that align with the Huskies' strengths. The team did not disappoint. The excitement began during preliminaries when Maggie Donlevy set a new school record in the 100-yard backstroke. The record would not last for long; however, as Maggie would go on to improve upon her time, reaching 53.21 later in the evening finals. This would not be the only school record for which Maggie played a part in the evening as she and her counterparts Angela Gambardella, Ella Epes, and Claire Lippert set a new time for the 400 yard medley relay soon after. Both the backstroke and medley relay performances were wins. In addition, Kayla Mendonca took third in the 100-yard backstroke while Angela Gambardella took second in the 100-yard breaststroke.

STORRS, Conn.-  The UConn women's tennis team hits the road this weekend, heading up to Hanover, New Hampshire for the Dartmouth Invitational. The Big Green will be hosting UConn, Boston College, and Gonzaga from Friday to Sunday (9/27 to 9/29).

MONTREAL, Quebec – UConn rising senior Chloe Thomas (Dundas, Ontario) earned the chance to compete for a spot on Team Canada for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games and she did just that on Thursday night, running the 5,000 meters at the Canadian Olympic Trials.
