Fudd Named to Meyers Drysdale Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn women's basketball graduate student Azzi Fudd was selected to the watch list for the 2025 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Tuesday.

In its eighth year, the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award honors the top shooting guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. It is named after the Class of 1993 Hall of Famer, the first player, regardless of gender, to be chosen for an All-America Team in four consecutive college seasons.

Fudd returns after missing the majority of the 2023-24 season to injury. Fudd averaged 15.1 points in 15 games in 2022-23. As a freshman, Fudd shot 43.0 percent from three-point range to lead the team. She was a 2021-22 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team selection.

Fudd is also preseason All-BIG EAST selection.

UConn alumna Christyn Williams won the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award in 2022.

On Monday, redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list.

Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in each of the three rounds starting on Friday, November 1. In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the 2025 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award will be narrowed to 10, and then in late February, to just 5. In March, the five finalists will be presented to Meyers Drysdale and the Hall of Fame's selection committees, where winners will be selected. The Selection Committees for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award are composed of top women's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.
