Huskies Host No. 12 Penn State
STORRS, Conn. – The No. 9 ranked UConn women's hockey team is set to host No. 12 Penn State Nittany Lions at the Toscano Family Ice Forum for a two game series this weekend. The series will begin on Friday, October 4 at 3:00pm. Tickets are available HERE.
UConn is coming into the weekend poised to bounce back from a pair of losses to No. 2 Minnesota last weekend. Junior forward Megan Woodworth leads the Huskies in points this season with a goal and assist under her belt. Woodworth finished with 14 points a season ago. Senior goalkeeper Megan Warrener set a new career high last Saturday making 45 saves, giving her a .938 save percentage. Warrener finished last season with .951 save percentage.
Penn State (1-1) is coming off a series split against Northeastern last weekend. The Nittany Lions are coached by Jeff Kampersal who is in his eighth season. Junior forward Tessa Janecke leads the team in points (3). The Nittany Lions goalkeeper Katie DeSa has made 32 saves so far this season, giving her a .914 save percentage.
Puck drop is set for 3:00pm on Friday and Saturday. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
