Huskies Welcome Maine to Storrs this Weekend
STORRS, Conn. – The No. 15 ranked UConn women's hockey team is set to host the Maine Black Bears for a two game series this weekend in Storrs. The series will start on Friday, January 17 at 6:00pm at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. TICKETS
The Huskies (13-8-1) have found their stride since the Nutmeg Classic in late November, winning three out of their last four games. UConn is currently in third place in the Hockey East standings on 33 points, one point behind second place Boston College, and three points behind first place Boston University. FULL STANDINGS
The Huskies defense has been strong this season, conceding only 19 goals in Hockey East play, ranking atop the conference. Senior goaltenders Tia Chan and Megan Warrener have been strong in between the pipes, posting a collective .933 save percentage this season. Both Chan and Warrener were named to the 2025 Women's Goalie of the Year Award Watch List for the second consecutive season.
UConn's leader in points this season is freshman forward, Claire Murdoch (18). Her 15 points in Hockey East play ranks second in the conference, as she is the only freshman in the conference with five plus goals. Murdoch has received Hockey East Rookie of the Week honors three times this season.
Scouting Maine:
Maine (6-17) is coming into the weekend, winners in three of their last four games. The Black Bears are led by sophomore forward Lily Fetch with 12 points this season. UConn won the first matchup this season back in December, in an overtime thriller at Maine, 4-3.
