Kyle Johnson and Marc Morrison Qualify for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships: All BIG-EAST Team Announced
STORRS- Marc Morrison (Orlando, Fla.) and Kyle Johnson (Montverde, Fla.) both qualified for the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Virginia Beach next weekend (March 13th-14th).
Morrison broke his own program record in the indoor long jump, with a season-best mark of 7.86m that earned him a qualifying spot in the NCAA Championships. Morrison won BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week in January for the performance. The senior also qualified for the long jump last outdoor season, earning a spot in the NCAA East First Round.
Johnson qualified for the triple jump with a UConn program record of his own, setting the new indoor triple jump record at 16.07m, a season best that earned him a spot in the NCAAs. The sophomore earned BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week after the record-breaking performance in February. Morrison and Johnson are key contributors to the men's triple jump's #4 USTFCCCA event squad ranking.
Morrison will be in action on Friday, March 14th at 7pm. Johnson will compete on Saturday, March 15th on 5:20pm.
The NCAA Championships will be aired on the ESPN family of networks on March 13th and March 14th.
