Kieran Chandler Earns Invite to 2024 MLS College Showcase
NEW YORK – UConn men's soccer standout sophomore Kieran Chandler has been invited to the 2024 Adidas Major League Soccer (MLS) College Showcase, announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon. Chandler will be one of 44 college players invited to participate in the showcase from December 11-14 in San Diego, California.
The four-day event will give technical staffs from every MLS club an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft on Friday, December 20 and feature an expanded player pool.
Chandler, a native of Simsbury, Connecticut has played 35 matches in his two seasons at UConn, making 32 career starts primarily in defense at the left back position. This season, Chandler started in all 18 games for the Huskies, recording four assists. He received BIG EAST Honors for a second consecutive season as an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection. Chandler was the BIG EAST Co-Freshman of the Year a season ago, recording two goals and four assists from his left back position.
The 2024 adidas MLS College Showcase is a closed-door scouting event officially sanctioned by the NCAA. The eligible player list for MLS SuperDraft 2025 will be announced at a later date following the 2024 adidas MLS College Showcase.
