Catholic Student Association Stamford Campus
We are a Catholic student organization based at the UConn Stamford Campus, fostering camaraderie, community, and discussions rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the challenges faced by students today. Our faith is built on the Word of God, enriched by Church tradition, and guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
Key principles include:
• Dignity of the Human Person: All are made in God’s image.
• Solidarity: Love and respect for one another.
• Subsidiarity: Supporting local communities.
• Common Good: Enabling fulfillment for all.
• Option for the Poor and Vulnerable: Prioritizing the most in need.
These values inspire us to live our faith meaningfully.
We host Bible Study to explore Scripture and deepen our understanding of faith, and Prayer Seminars, where we pray the Rosary and reflect on Scripture. We also host a brief Faith Formation segment on Catholic teachings, traditions, or saints, with topics suggested by members to foster curiosity and growth. Through these activities, we strive to grow in faith, unity, and love for God and one another.
Though rooted in Catholicism, we welcome individuals from all faiths and backgrounds. Our mission is to foster conversation, celebrate diverse perspectives, and deepen faith as a community.
We collaborate with local parishes and broader Catholic communities in Stamford and surrounding areas, offering opportunities for worship, service, and connection with the wider Church.
As St. Paul reminds us:
"For as the body is one, and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body, so also is Christ. For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink." (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
Each member, though unique, is essential, working together in harmony to fulfill the Church’s mission.
