Healthcare Communication and Outreach Society

Healthcare Communication and Outreach Society is a student-led organization dedicated to building a community of like-minded pre-health students committed to improving communication in healthcare and addressing systemic challenges within the field. We believe that compassionate, culturally responsive communication is essential to advancing equitable and effective patient care.

Our chapter prepares future healthcare professionals by combining dialogue, service, and professional development. We host local and accessible community outreach events focused on health education and resource navigation, allowing members to actively engage with and serve diverse populations. Through community service initiatives and structured volunteer opportunities, students gain hands-on experience addressing health disparities and social determinants of health.

We also organize keynote speaker events and professional panels featuring healthcare providers, public health leaders, and patient advocates who share insights on health equity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and navigating complex healthcare systems. Skill-building workshops further help members develop strong patient communication, advocacy, and leadership abilities.
