- Sep 1011:15 AMAlgebra Seminar - A Newton-Okounkov body for products of curvesMihai Fulger (University of Connecticut) will speak about Generic infinitesimal Newton-Okounkov bodies of some polarizations on products of curves Let \((X,L,x)\) be a projective variety with a line bundle and a distinguished point \(x\). The bodies of interest capture both global positivity information for \(L\) on \(X\), and local positivity for \(L\) around \(x\). They are somewhat computable in dimension at most two by work of Lazarsfeld-Mustata, but \(X=\mathbb P^n\) appears to be the only known example in arbitrary dimension. We compute the generic infinitesimal Newton-Okounkov body on products of curves \(X=C_1\times\ldots\times C_n\), at any point \(x\in X\), for box-product polarizations \(\boxtimes_{i=1}^nL_i\) where \(L_i\) are degree one line bundles on \(C_i\). This is in joint work with Victor Lozovanu.
